"If it's never been done with puppets before,
we'll try it!"
- Mark Down

Blind Summit is a Charity and to continue to achieve our mission each year, we need the support of generous donors like you. You can find out more about our work on the ABOUT US page.

We're looking for donors who will support the creation of new work.

Having made over 48 shows, Blind Summit's Artistic Director, Mark Down, has developed a unique approach to making theatre. This all starts to the Generator phase - dreaming, writing, making puppets and workshopping new ideas into being.

The Incubator Fund - Open Auditions

Every two years we hold open auditions to find new puppeteers to join our ensemble. These auditions are open to anyone who expresses an interest usually up to about 300 people. This is the only scheme that actively searches for puppeteers to invest in their training.

Often we give people their first break in the industry. All of them go on to work in the wider industry.

Example: JAKE WARING

Jake t rained at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama where Blind Summit is a visiting lecturer

In 2013 he auditioned for Blind Summit in open auditions

He helped to make The Puppet Monologues in 2014

He joined the cast for Magic Flute in Bregenz 2014

He helped make Rossignol in Bregenz 2014

He was a lead cast in the Award Winning Citizen Puppet at Edinburgh Fringe 2015

He is currently Artist in Residence at Derby Playhouse

We need to raise £15,000 to pay for a team of three casting directors for 4 weeks, a rehearsal room, and administrative costs.

DONATE below to keep giving people a chance!

The Generator Fund
Every year we need to raise £30,000 for the Generator Fund to pay for artists, materials to make new puppets, rehearsal and workshop space, machinery upkeep, and even printer cartridges for our scripts!
